I've read the C7 was going to be Mid engine but the 2010 money issues killed that. They supposedly had a good portion of the engineering done and there has been a prototype spotted cobbled together with Holden UTE parts. I think it's going to happen.

$150 is out of my budget but in 2020 when the C8 comes out the regular Vettes will be Mid Engine and I'll be in the market then.

Next car is a C8...

The only thing I don't like about the idea of the 2017 Zora is that the C7 truly is a beautiful car, and it deserves a longer production run than three freakin years.

Fellas, this isn't happening in 2017. If it does, I would be shocked. Unless it's an official release from GM, don't get your hopes up.

I would love to see GM roll out a mid engine Zora with a twin turbo 6.2 pushing 800 hp. I couldn't afford it but I would be pretty stoked to see it happen.

so if that's true im guessing that test mule that was spied a few months back was used for testing and then decided it just wasn't going to work? that would be disappointing.

we almost got half of that... TT 6.2 vette (still front mount engine tho) for the last ZR1, but GM kept experiencing "Thermal events" with the car and a supercharger was put on instead.

I got from that link maybe we are talking Caddy? Doesn't make sense to me though. I could see a Caddy version and a Chevy version that could sell enough to make it profitable.

IDK, we'll see... Either way I'm planning for a C8 in the garage and my son gets the Camaro.

haha as much as I like them I just never understood them. I thought it was way overpriced for what you get, why not just buy a Vette?

I wouldn't say it's the end of the world. If I were GM, and I was building my first mid engined car, I would plan the car 5-10 years out. That said, we (enthusiasts)have been speculating a mid engines corvette for over 20 years with almost zero comments from GM.

Over priced yes, but Cadillac needs a car like that IMO
