Camaro the most sold sports car in Sweden 2012

Hi,

The most sold sports car in Sweden during 2012 was the Chevrolet Camaro. According to the numbers they sold 179 Camaro. In second place came Porsche 911 with 154, third Toyota GT 86 with 149.

The reporter thinks the reason that Camaro took first place is the low price. The starting price is 57.700$ for manual coupe and a convertible automatic is 67.900$.

So far this year they have sold 63 Camaros, 79 Porsche 911 and 52 Boxter/Cayman.

One reason why Camaros are popular in Sweden is due to the Camaro Cup.

Interesting. I knew the Camaro was being sold in Sweden but I didn't know it's the best selling sports car. I would've guessed Porsche or maybe BMW had better sales than the Camaro. The price made the difference.

Are there any new Mustangs or Challengers in Sweden too?

aren't they obsessed with American cars in Sweden? It's part of the culture apparently. They have that 50's greaser style going on there. Apparently they're one of the countries with the most restored American muscle cars

pretty cool. No wonder with its classic styling the Camaro sells well there. Great taste

Mustangs and Challangers are as far as i know only sold via unofficial channels, imported.

After the second world war Sweden was in good shape and our economy flourished. From there we had the chance to buy old classic American muscle cars. I think the typical Swedish buyer is a man 50+ year with good economy who always wanted a muscle car but want/need the convenient that a new car offers.
