Resonated X Pipe Before & After Video

Resonated X Pipe Installed. Mods in my signature. This is before and after video. Idle has become bit tamed and very deep. Overall sound is deep with almost no drone. Scrrams at WOT like before.

Honestly it sounded better before you put the Resonated X pipe in .

Actually, I'm in agreement with 1Coopgt. Why did you install the Resonated X-pipe?

He lives in Saudi Arabia and does not want to be pulled over by the police. From what I understand, they can seize your car there.
I have the Outlaw exhaust, same as him, and it is loud AF with headers and no resonator...and he has a cam, which makes it even louder.

Yes exactly. My car will be seized with 1000$ fine. At WOT it screams. Tomorrow I will make video of some Revs.

The way the flows merge, most of the heavy, choppy rumble that alternates left pipe, right pipe, left pipe, etc., never gets past the X. The flows are more fully merged than you could possibly get with an 'H'.

It's a good stealth mod for several situations - for cold starts and neighborhood running, for any desire to avoid impound and/or large fines or repeated "fix-it" tickets . . . maybe even good for suckering a few other people in street challenges into thinking there isn't as much muscle under your car's hood as is really there. If there's a downside, it's that it doesn't sound like a traditional dragstrip-focused muscle car.

I've been at this a while and had a reason to investigate it further about 20 years ago for a single-catted V8 Malibu (1979) out to duals (the cat basically becoming an X-pipe). The tall black and blue traces are your rumble, the solid red is more or less what an X leaves you with (it's definitely a higher pitched and more even or 'smoother' kind of sound, as the red trace suggests).

The car in my sig is about to get its own X-pipe.

I'm sorry......but if you know bad things can happen if you get stopped for noise......why did you do the 2 most obvious noise makers available.....cam and headers w/hacked up exhaust?! I'm just sayin.
Please tell me I'm missing something here?

Because chosen properly, cam and headers are power improvers first with the extra noise being strictly a consequence. The modified exhaust takes care of the noise (most of the time).

Does anybody really spend the money for a partial engine rebuild (to install the cam) plus the headers and their installation - where the main reason is just to make the car louder?

I had my Camaro strait piped and was told I was loosing power because of it,so I bought an x pipe had it put on and drove it for a few weeks with x pipe. I didn't notice any power gains but I did notice my cars exhaust sounded so much quieter. Needless to say my Camaro went back to strait pipes.

I was trying to find a system that suppressed the rasp associated with L/T's/Cam, had a deeper tone and had a modest volume. I went with a M/F system with chambered X. The sound is nice and smooth and deep and very driveable...BUT is really takes a lot of the sound of the cam away. As much as I love the system, I really hate that I've lost that aspect. Certainly not a knock on M/F, its an awesome system and well built. Just nature of the beast. Is there not a substantial difference between a chambered x vs a "normal" x in sound?

Mostly just at startup and idle. Neighbors prefer it that way a great deal.

It picks up quite a bit once you hit mid-range. Nice echo off left-side Jersey barriers.
