To all that follow Robert here, I am his oldest brother Tom. Debbie has been diligent in keeping ya'll informed on the caring bridge page.
I would like to let you know that today, Bob came out of the sedation, and is able to communicate through head nods and shakes, hand gestures, and the like. He cannot speak due to the trache tube, but he is stable, alert, and seems to have turned the corner in his recovery. He has a long way to go still, and the medical team where he is hospitalized in Florida is looking at the possibility of returning him to Texas within the week. He will transfer to an Acute rehab facility for the rest of his recovery. They have some great facilities in our mmediate area that he may end up at; New Braunfels and Kyle, Texas are where they are looking. He lives in Kyle, so either of those will be great choices. When I hear anything new, i will inform you here, of his Wife Debbie will update the caring bridge. In the meantime, he can still use your thoughts and prayers. Thank, you, Tom

Thanks Tom... I just came in here after seeing the Caring Bridge post. So good to hear after 2 weeks.

We serve a mighty God. And he has listened to all of our prayers.... Robert woke up today! The doctors are still working to get his heart rate and blood pressure leveled out, etc and now that he is awake he is very uncomfortable. Please send up prayers of thankfulness, as well as continued healing for Robert. We thank you for your prayers and well wishes.

That's awesome news! Tell him I'm looking forward to his ribs healing well enough to laugh, maybe send a link to the "My dog eats poop" thread for you to read to him before they're completely healed

Today is a good day.

Today is a good day.
Here's your thread... but Robert better not open this one for a while. It could be painful.

I was going to fly down there this weekend, but it is nascar weekend down there, and the flights and hotels are outrageous.

They started weaning him off the ventilator today, he was responding to that well. The bad thing is once he is breathing on his own, they will get rid of the trache stuff, and he will be able to start trying to talk. He is much more enjoyable to be around when he is quiet.....

He also got MRA results that were good.

They are working on finding a good balance for blood pressure and heart rate medicine. Kidneys are still acting up, but they can take some time to come back.

All the head scans have come back good; But then, he was not all that normal before the heart attack.....

Although i do not post on this board, I read a lot of it, and that dog eats poop is hilarious. Dogs never cease to find ways to amuse us.

Once he is back down here, and further along in his recovery, I will probably find a couple ways to rile his ass up. Maybe a "For Sale" sign on Brandi??

Will keep you posted on his progress.

Hopefully he'll make it back this way soon enough. If you all end up in the Houston area Debbie has our number and we have spare rooms.

Also, folks are asking if they need anything or what we can do.
