Ecm replacement 30 minute relearn

I find myself in need of a little assistance with this problem.

I had an unfortunate incident after installing my engine, after another unfortunate incident. You play you pay. After reinstalling the motor in my Camaro (the Mechanic, aka Me) did not tighten the positive cable on the alternator. After some driving it arced the positive post off, just the tip. Then hit some things I wish it hadn't. During this it damaged my ECM.

I've procured a replacement that was Vin coded for the car. Installed per the instructions and began the 30 minute relearn, everything was looking good although It turns out I was doing it wrong. I discovered that out at the end when it did not work... Lol

Now upon attempting relearn the security light comes on when I turn the key on but after 10 or even 15 minutes. It does not go off.

Does this method even work?
