ecs novi 2000
Anyone running the upgraded head unit? I'm sure you will make more power pound for pound over the 1500. Is it worth the extra money? I'm stock cubic inches for now and want to run 12 to 13 psi on pump with water/meth.

If your goals are more HP down the road and a bigger motor than that than go for it but the 1500 will do just fine on stock motor till the motor blows up.

I ran the 1500 on a stock bottom end at 15lbs., cam, injectors, dual pumps, making 811whp. I know people that made more with similar modifications. 800 is about where the 1500 maxes out. From there, it isn't the 2000, 2200, or 2500. You go to the YSi. You can run that on the stock bottom end, but you'll lose low end torque unless you go bigger cubes. It's kinda a double edged sword. You can push the 1500 to it's limits, but then it's only a matter of time until you get a new motor. If you go to the YSi, you lose low end power, but the hp range is much higher. It's what you decide is the lesser of two evils.

I think I will go the 2000 route. I already have traction issues so the later it makes power the better

It's gonna cost you more because the 2000 won't fit up to the brackets. That's why the YSi is the next step up. It can be done, but not without doing some fabrication work. It'll cost more in the end and you still won't be making the power that the YSi does.

The 2000 is not an option. JDP has that in there as an error. I can tell you this confidently because ECS, who makes the kit are the people that work on my car. If you go to their facebook website and scroll down, you can see my car with it's first startup. Its an LSX427 w/ YSi. If you're going to upgrade the blower, the YSi, is the next step up. It's also a better option because it will provide you with more power. But the NOVI 2000 is not an interchangeable option. http://www.eastcoastsupercharging.co...ategory_id=137 |

I think I will stick with the 1500 then. I'm not trying to break records just have a quick car. These cars take a LOT of power to move

There's no doubt in that. 10lbs. is the normal setting of the 1500 with the restrictor plate if you have meth and LTs. Once you remove the restrictor plate, you go to 15 lbs. The car will have more pep to it and you will feel the difference. I've been using the ECS kit for the past 2 years. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. I can help you with whatever you need as far as advice and stuff.

If you are going bigger motor in the future get the ysi up front. Call FSP or ECS and ask about a ristrictor plate to drive your low end up a bit. The paxton 1500 will get you deep into the 10's, its all about how fast you want to go and how much you want to spend.

I personally went 9's with the NOvi 1500, of course this was in ideal weather conditions but in a full weight Gen 5, ug...
The YSi is the only option past the 1500 really.. The 2200 needs a one-off custom adapter, we made one which was for my personal car that I later sold the system off of. So there is just one 2200 Camaro in operation, and I believe that's how it will stay. The 2200 is just a hair above the 1500, so really no reason to step up to the 2200. I'd go 1500 on stock bottom end, or go YSi if you have intentions of going big. We have put YSi's on the stock motors, made over 800rwhp through the auto at 17psi. |
