'Cybils' transformation
Finally decided to take the mod plunge! Placed order with Cincy Speed for CAI, cam, valve/spring upgrade, SW longtube headers, and exhaust cutouts. Craig/Cincy Speed said all the stuff should be in early next week. Now the hard part.....waiting til next week to take my ride to Cincy for some power adds!! Will keep everyone updated with progress. Thanks to acowherd for sharing his Cincy Speed experience with me.

Spoke to Craig at Cincy Speed yesterday. All my parts are in and I'm scheduled to take her in Monday 5/10 for the work. Can't wait to see what a difference this will all make. Will post numbers after I get them.

Mission accomplished
'Cybil' is back home with plenty more horses now!!!
Baseline pull on Monday morning was 365rwhp/370 tq. Only mod was a Borla S-type catback. After cam, rods/springs, CAI, headers, and exhaust cutouts the final dyno #'s on Tuesday were 457rwhp/420 tq. Think I may have left a little on the table because headers are 3" tubes going into a 2.5" Borla catback......but, that being said I am extremely pleased with the numbers and the sound of the header/exhaust combo....very deep thump when idling. So much that you can feel it hitting you lightly in the chest when standing behind the car!!! Couldn't post this without thanking all the guys at Cincy Speed for their great work and taking the time to listen to what I wanted. They didn't try pushing what they wanted onto me and I appreciate that. Suspect there will be a future visit back to Cincy for some suspension work!! Baseline dyno: 'After' dyno: |

Pics from my Cincy Speed experience! These are all cell phone pics, so not the best in the world. Last pic is (l to r) Tracie (Cincy Speed), me, and Craig (Cincy Speed).

Another nugget of knowledge for anyone interested. Filled her up today and averaged 17.7mpg with mods. I'm impressed with that.

What did the whole moddification cost you. PM me if you'd like. Very interested in a similar set up.

Just got back from Cincy Speed this evening. Had to go back and get a new driver side header put on. One of the tubes on the initial one was hitting the steering shaft. Stainless Works was awesome. They called me the next day after the initial install and apologized and sent a new one out right away to replace it. New one was put on and no troubles. Great customer service. While at Cincy Speed getting that done, they told me they had a set of Pfadt drop springs and sway bars. Ended up leaving with them installed! Car looks banging with the new springs!

Wow, did you ever take the plunge (cha-ching). I can't do all that yet.
Curious, you said your MPG was 17.7, what was it prior to your mods? I'm bone stock and getting 20.9 combined daily to work, 27 hwy. Lori Thankx for sharing. |
