Im running a 4000 stall with the 3.50 gears and this works for my car. Just make sure you get a triple disc converter if you are going to lock up the converter or street drive it as I am running a non lockup since it is more race built than street driven. Just giving my .02 from experience of figuring converters out.

what 60 foots do you get with your set-up?
do you footbrake or transbrake?
what rpm do you trap at with the 3.50?
thanks

Cool good luck with the new combo. With the big converter drop you might hook 200 off the brake, because the new converter won't go more than 4000 on spray? I think the new converter sounds kind of tight but maybe like I was saying you can grab more off the line. Does your builder think you will see full boost like you did before only going to 3000.

I run off the transbrake. Ive not made an full out passes as first I blew up the converter and then after that the trans let go and come to find out the other converter which was a 4800 burnt all the clutches out so I have now learned all the lessons of what works and what doesnt and why. Between RPM Trans and COAN we have figured out what my car needs and likes. I am expecting high 1.20's or low 1.30's as it has already done high 1.30's with no power. I went to the 3.50 more for getting off the line than trap rpm as I had 3.90 and it would just blow the tires off. I have several sets of diffs with different gears installed to play with to see what works best but its finally headed in the right direction.

I had a 4800 before but after alot of input and discussions everyone is in agreement this is correct and since we are going to start spraying the car it should work out great. Holley just sent us their new firmware and it has tons of new features such as traction control and torque management and the nitrous setup in the software is infinite in its abilities. RPM rebuilt the trans and beefed it up as well so every little detail we wanted to finish up is done and the car is ready to do some full out runs as the traction issue off the line has been resolved as well. Should be very entertaining first few launches and make my way to a full out run. The tune is dead nuts now and is running perfect. Warm weather and open tracks wont get here fast enough.

With me getting the car to hook now and launch I can now start playing with the nitrous at launch also and ramp it in thru the run. Before there was no way I could even think of using the nitrous off the line but now I have the converter lined out hopefully I can start hitting the nitrous hard too

So you spun on the 1.43? You ran a glide with a 3.73 perhaps?

In any event you have a lot of changes happening all at once so it will probaby take a while to figure out what works. That's a big drop in converter but if you are planning to hit it with 200 nitrous right off the brake it might like it. I'm guessing you are hoping to go high 1.2's and low 1.3's.

I also help with a 4th gen that runs 7.2-4@195-202mph, and we run a Rossler 210 TH400. Issue sometimes is not too much power off the hit, sometime it's not enough. You might be a little surprised how much converter some blower cars run to get into the 8's.

Do you have a 2 step?

With our car, 2010 Camaro IRS s/c and nitrous, we have a TH 400, 4.10 gear, 4500 stall, launch at 3500 with 250 of nitrous from the line, best 60 ft 1.302s, and then + 250 nitrous .75-1.25 s in depending on the track. Total 1268 rwhp. Best 8.78@164mph.

Graham.
