Installed mine as well...... only part left out of the Jimmh instructions (unless I just happened to mis it when reading them.....) was to connect Ofer's red and green wires together for the power to the mirror. I looked all over and did not find anything on thing on this. Also, tucking the mirror wire connector into the headliner was a PITA.

Figure 31. Though I could have detailed it better. I spelled it out in post #5.

Ok, someone tell me this isn't freaky.

I was backing into my garage tonight, and, inexplicably, the grid lines are gone. Poof. They were there when I first installed it, and every time since, up to when I backed into my parking space at work this morning. I turned the car off, started it back up, and they are still gone.

I am bummed by this, as I lined up the red line with the bottom of my tool cabinet. Now I back to waiting for the beeping to increase.

Thats odd, hopefully it will return, if not, get another camera I guess, since it is camera induced...

-------------

I just finished mine tonight.
With the cameras being so big, blocking some of the license plate, hanging down in front of it and/or bolted to it,
(and my inability to find a decent looking, decent priced small one),
I decided to hack into the bumper and blend it into the lower valance.
The camera I chose has some LEDs to help with night vision, so its a little wider than some...
I think it looks real good, compared to most i've seen, not out of place...
Plus its lower, so I can see curbs and such better.

Idunno, maybe I'm just crazy, but I like it.

Thanks 2SSRS, jimmyh, and redZ28!

I wasn't sure but, I never had the red lines on mine???

I thought it might be due to the different camera???

I'm not too worried about it cus I have the sensors. Be interesting to figure it out.

Well, it's working. But it takes about 20 seconds after reverse for the picture to come up, where it used to be instantaneous. And the picture is fuzzy/blurry. I wonder if it's because I painted it. I used spray paint, and maybe some paint got into the camera housing.

Which mirrors had grid lines?

Its not the mirror that has the lines, its the camera.

Not all cameras have the lines.

Some cameras that do have the lines can have them turned off too.
