Camaro 1LT vs. 2LT
Okay so I've been looking for a Camaro for a couple of months now and it's been very hard deciding exactly what i want. I do want a 2LT with RS Package, however the price is a little bit over what i want to spend, so i have to ask is it worth it to wait and get a 2LT or should i get a 1LT and upgrade it later on down the road in a couple of months ? Any and all opinions and experiences are great. Thanks in Advanced.

I would go with the 2LT, because I wanted leather seats, leather steering wheel, 4gauge pack, Boston premium sound. To me its worth the extra money. Just my 2 cents.

I thought the same thing out. I got the 2Lt/RS and love every thing about it. I needed the gas milage do to the 105 miles a day i drive. I really wanted the 2SS/RS. I got the 2LT/RS since it gave me the gas millage and all the fixings of the 2SS/RS If you are staped for cash thats one thing but for the money you spend now you could save in the long run. Parts from GM can be expensive if you dont get them from factory in the package. Plus the HUD is the new 2011 option on the 2LT it does not come on the 1LT. That makes it cooler.

Well I think you'll find upgrading a 1LT to a 2LT especially with the RS package will be a lot more money then just buying what you want now.
For example 2LT has leather, so are you going to upgrade all your seats to leather? Then you have the gauges, heated seats, upgraded radio and so on. Then with the RS you have the Halo lights everyone likes which is very expensive to try and upgrade to.

It depends on what features you're looking for. The main difference between a 1LT/RS and a 2LT/RS are the leather, boston acoustics system, and the 4 pack cluster gauge. You won't need heated seats in FL, you can get a cheaper and better system aftermarket than the Boston Acoustics package and you can order the cluster gauges for about $360.

I chose the 1LT, because Leatherseats arent a big deal to me. Plus, summer with leather seats = sticky. So i went with sport cloth. I'm not a big sound person, i can't really hear the difference... And as for the Gauge clusters, I ordered mine for the price stated above. Installing it myself. I don't have the RS package, because I dont like the spoilers... I'm going to install HID, and custom halos for my car though. Imo, in the end, it's cheaper to upgrade yourself. But maybe I just like having the hands on experience. Develop more bond with your car, etc =p

Well i understand upgrading is a pain, but i'd say to upgrade to Leather, Gauges, Convenience and Connectivity package, rims, halos, etc.. i can do for about 5K and considering i have found numerous used 1LT's in my area with sunroofs for 22,500. The cheapest i've found the black 2Lt i want is 29,991 thats a 7,500 dollar difference so i can put all custom parts in for the difference so i don't see how i can justify getting the 2LT. If that helps you see where i stand.

I ended up with 1LT. didn't need leather or upgraded stereo. I don't care for the spoiler much either.
Either way you get a sweet ride! |

I was sitting on the fence trying to figure which model to buy also. Haven't received mine yet, but I went with the 2LT RS after about a thousand ways of configuring an LS and a 1LT and 2LT...well and of course the 1 and 2SS.
My time is worth more to me right now so I went with the more expensive model with more stuff included now as I hardly have time to mow my lawn and once it gets here... I will drive\enjoy it without having to do many mods. Don't get me wrong, I would rather do it myself. |

I got the 1LT/RS with C&C package. IMO best bang for the buck which is how I judge just about everything. The upgraded cloth seats of the 1LT are really awesome. I've had leather in the past 5 or 6 cars but I really love these cloth seats. Gauge cluster is a bit of wasted space, IMO. I would have liked the BA audio system but the stock sounds really good. At the time I couldn't really justify the extra price, although if I could change one thing about my order that might have been it.
Don't forget about the money you are going to dump into the car for mods either.

As you can see there are many opinions on this. It all come down to what you want in your car and if you have the time to do the Mods. I went with the LS since I got it below sticker and found every upgrade I wanted in the aftermarket or from GM. I don't have a lot of extra time but I do enjoy working on the camaro.
