2010 Camaro SS Racecar build for NASA's American Iron series
Hi Guys,
Not sure if I'm in the right forum or not for this post - if not, mods please forgive and move to the appropriate area... One of our customers is having us build a new (and I mean NEW) racecar for him and I thought I would post a link to the website here in case you were interested in watching Carriage House Custom Automotive's website and build progress.. This is going to be an exceptionally nice racecar that's being built to run in NASA's American Iron series. Hopefully we'll be able to get Homologation into the SCCA's American Sedan class as well.. Transformer's Bumblebee on the track? BUIILD UPDATE: http://www.carriagehousecustoms.com/.../2010-SS1.html There's been a few updates now.. We're still working on getting all the component weights logged into a spreadsheet and then onto the website. Just an FYI - The Tremec TR6060 weighs a svelt 156# It's cooled by an oil cooler in the radiator and the pump is (edit) built into the front of the trans. The roll cage started going in this week and will be finished soon.. We're hoping to have this car done in time for the NASA Nationals... Regards - Randy Last edited by Big-Foot; 08-05-2009 at 06:10 AM. Reason: clarification on trans cooler |

Drool! This is the real stuff! I hope it turns out to be the baddest beast on the circuit making the Saleens cry with dust in their eyes, and make us desk jockies cream our jeans!
Thank you for doing this! |

Thanks guys...
At 3,840# with 3/4 load of fuel, you can see this girl needed to go to Weight-Watchers.. Gradually she's shaping up and will be one very wicked contender on the track. Heat / Cat Convertors - Yep - it's all pretty much isolated right there.. Here's some other shots of the exhaust system and components; The whole 9 yards - This system weighs in at 75# not including the manifolds and cats; The Balance Tube (H-Pipe) The Resonators Big-Mufflers Cast Iron Exhaust manifolds (although they look like they'd flow well) Replacement Doug Thorley headers (5# lighter than the iron manifolds)
