Cup Holders in our Camaro's

Us Silly American's and Cup Holders... We were just on a road trip for the Memorial Day Weekend and the Cup Holders behind my MN6 Shifter were useless. Part of my trip included a stop at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Their gift shop has lots of cool stuff including Add on Cup Holders for C5 and C6 Vettes. I got excited and tried them in the Camaro, but they don't fit :(

So I started looking and I am excited that it seems the same company is coming out with them for our 5th Gen Camaro's!!

http://www.rickscamaros.com/catalogs...holder&x=0&y=0

I can't wait to get some, probably the back seat and a single for the front passenger. What do you guys think? They look cool, and if I can fit a water bottle and not hit my elbow on it, ob block me from hitting fourth and sixth, I'm in!!!

Single

Double

Back Seat

Edit: I just noticed the pictures show an Auto, so maybe this affects you guys too?

Yeah, thanks for posting that. Shifting with something in the factory cup holder isn't ideal.

Sickening how much the aftermarket charges for some pretty simple stuff.

You think the cup holders suck in the new Camaro? You should see how shallow the one cup holder is in a C5 Corvette and it still gets in the way when shifting gears(6 speed man.). Not to mention if you have a large cup, it covers up the A/C controls and part of the radio. I bought a "Travel Buddy" double cup holder for my C5 and it fits great. I'll probably be buying one of the double cup holders for the rear seat in the Camaro since they didn't put any back there. Nice find and page saved, Thanks.

Ricks has always been a bit too fond on some of their stuff when it comes to pricing.:(

That's the ONE good thing about those awful Filtrete water bottles; the top of it is concave so that if I put it in the rear cup holder, it's like a little arm rest.

The bottles suck, otherwise. They're top heavy, you really have to crank down the lids to keep them from leaking, making them VERY hard to get off when you want to wash them, put them together and knock one a little bit and they all go down like dominoes, etc. But that little concave bit at the top when you pop the top closed. Perfect for an arm rest. :p

I agree, pricing may not be ideal... maybe in time it will come down, but I since I see the need for it, I thought I'd share. I plan to get some, but it works with the way I plan to use my camaro long term.

Im glad to see the aftermarket finally address this problem. As for the price, can't blame them. They probably made a small production run for the first wave of product, and need to re-coop their investment for the molds, tooling, etc.

I personally will order the rear seat dual cup holders, as I do not like how the side ones will warp the center console plastic.
