Buy the way i did find the Acrylic rod that will work for the light pipe, its 3/16 which is 4.8MM, Now to add the white stripe to the back.

You cant use any Acrylic rod, i have ordered from 4 company's and regular Acrylic rod does not transfer the light all the way to the end of pipe.

Hope to have it painted with the stripe soon.

Can you use a very fine bead of caulk instead of paint? You would probably have to use a Syringe to apply it, but just another thought since some of the caulks will dry white.

My mind is always thinking of ideas. I'm not sure how to mask off the tube to keep the lines straight with masking tape or otherwise.

If you could clamp the tube to keep it from moving, then have the paint brush/caulk tube above it and have wheels spaced on both sides you could simply roll it on to apply it.

Maybe even a toy yo-yo would do it if you can get one that is the right width of the tube and adjust a brush on it.

It might be crazy.. But it is just me

I was thinking of going to get some steel pipe, 3/16 ID X 36" long machining a slit in it for the tip of a small brush/spray it, need to find out how much for that part to be made.

I agree. There has to be some reflective pin striping out there!

The problem I've run into with pin striping and the fiber optics I've gotten my hands on is it won't stick to the fiber optics material...

On a short piece for the driver side I'm taping off the optics and trying white or silver touch up paint...I'll report back.

I am wondering if you could get a glowing affect using a hi-lighter and liquid. Now I dont know how many people would want to do this in their cars but I remember getting the glow effect in college using Absolut bottles and and hi-lighter in water.

For the effect to work I would guess you would need a blue hi-lighter, 1/4" tubing and 2 LED's. You would have to soak the hi-lighter in water over night in a glass of water. Take one of the LED's and stick it into the 1/4" tube and glue it. Then pour the liquid into the pipe making sure no bubbles get in. Then take the second LED and glue it into the other end to close the pipe. The LED's should light the liquid in the pipe up. I would just be hesitant to try it in my own car.
