Factory License Plate Bracket
Does anyone have a photo of their Camaro with a factory installed lisence plate bracket? One without the lisence plate in it.
I'm just wondering what to expect when my 2SS finally shows up. Man, Iowa sucks!!! Front lisence plates and ANY tinting on the driver and passenger doors is illegal. Unless of course you live on the east side of Waterloo and drive a hoopty. Cops are too scared to pull them over. They just harrass us hard working, middle class folks. Anyway, my parents bought a Malibu years ago and the dealer just used 4 freaking screws and attached their lisence plate to their front bumper without a bracket. Needless to say, Dad went off the deep end on them. Lucky for them, the lisence plate bracket they ordered after his tirade matched the holes they had already put in the bumper. I'd hate to have to go postal if they did that to my new Camaro. |

I bought a manual retractable plate that goes on the bottom of the front bumper pretty much any where you want. Still holes but atleast on the bottom.

Is this what you're wanting to see? The license plate bracket was no longer needed and some black caps were installed to hide the holes.

Yeah, I'd much prefer not to have the holes with the black caps. Always trying to see the brighter side... I guess I have the option to have the bracket on or off... change it up when I want. I've seen some pretty cool front plate setups plus it's not the end of the world... I freakin totally love my Camaro... she's all mine!!

Mine is also still in the trunk. In Ohio you are required by law to have a front and rear license plate. I just put my front plate on the dash in the passenger side bottom right hand corner so it is visible from the outside of the car through the windshield. I looked up court cases where people had been in trouble with the law in my state for doing just this, but they were able to argue that it was visible from the front of the car as the law stated. They were also able to show that nowhere in the law does it state that it has to be on the front bumper. They won and had the case dismissed. I saw 2 such cases of this. I am thinking about printing the law and those two cases as a precedent and keeping them with my registration and insurance information for the off chance that anything is ever said to me about it.
There was no way in hell I was going to put holes in the front bumper of my new Camaro. I'll comply with the law and have it tucked in the dash viewable from the windshield, but that's all I am willing to do. Better than some of my co-workers who also own very nice cars. They just stow the front plate in the trunk and don't even attempt to comply with the law. Better to have a hand full of cards you can play to back up your choices, but that's just my stance on the matter. |

I told my salesman that I didn't want them to mount the bracket. Well, they didn't and it was not in the trunk.

Can someone link the stealth one hat can be directly in the front that makes it so you have no holes in the front? Not the flip up one but the low pro one?
