Wiring help!
If i have a line that supplies power and i use a ttap to connect to it, then i use a switch on my NEW line if i turn off my NEW line would that kill power to the rest of my origonal line also?
I'll explain it a different way now: Say i have my a wire and i use a T-tap to connect another to it like this; T <-- The top of the T is the origonal line and the leg is the new line. If i connect a switch mid way through the new line (leg on the "T") and turn the switch OFF does that kill the power to the remainder of the origonal line? If I sound compleetly retarded I can try and draw a picture... I draw like a kindergardener though.

If the switch is on the side of the new line from the T tap, then it should not affect anything past the tap. The original part of the circuit should be the same as it always was. Hope this helps.

No it only kills power on the leg of the T. The top of the T still has power.

Ahhhh! I'm such an idiot! In my frenzy to get all the things i need before Home Depot closed i accidentally grabbed splice clips not T-taps! No i get to wake up earlier so i can go to home depot and get the T-taps as fast as i could. Hahaha oh well, looks like i'm borrowing my parents car to go to court tomorrow! :/

If you want to call it safe, I would put the switch on the ground side.

No, it won't affect the original line. Think of a switch as just a fancy way to cut and reconnect a wire whenever you want.
