If your really digging into performance figures yes the 6th gen wins. On the other hand, the price of a used 5th gen and a supercharger... the tables might be turned. My 2015 SS has been great with a couple mods. Might as well wait for the 6th gens to crash in price even though I really didn't fit in it that well.

6th gen vs 5th gen

If I absolutely had to shop for a car tomorrow for myself, a 1LE SS would be on what'd be a very short list. Norm

And frankly I have talked to several average Joe's and from an appearance point of view most people can't even tell the difference between the Gen 5 and Gen 6.

Well looks like we'll be holding on to our beloved 5th Gens. That could be a factor in 6th Gen sluggish sales, other factors, no LS, but a 4 banger? LTs & SS notably priced higher, and smaller interior dimensions. And really Chevy could you pinch the grille any smaller, just get rid of the grille altogether! (and watch sales tumble even further)

I would only lease a 6th gen, because anything besides the exhaust as already been done to it. The other side of the coin is that you lose the fun out of modding

Seeing more and more of them on the street. I'm not really sure what y'all don't like about them, but I think it's a really nice evolution in Camaro design. No, it's quite as bold as the early 5th Gens, however, I think they did a good job in keeping the aggressive look. It is much more of a sports car look, that is certain. Perhaps that's where the divide is.
But it is faster, lighter, and more nimble than the 5th gen. I could see myself pulling the trigger on one this year. But, depending on how the market goes, I'd probably get a '14 used Corvette instead. |

would love the extra performance but for me there are two drawbacks, 1) little too high in price for me, and 2) dawn thing is like setting in a sardine can for me, just not roomy enough!

I picked up a 5th gen this last April, 10' RS/SS M6 car for 19k with 59k. As much as I enjoy this car, I personally cannot wait to upgrade to the 6th gen. Smaller, lighter, faster, what's not to like? I have a little over a year before I upgrade, till then I'll continue to enjoy the 5th gen

2 years later and there's still a lot of butt hurt over the new car eh? I'm on my 9th Camaro and I enjoy all gens and all years but, there is something called progression guys. The new car is in many ways better. As for the looks, it's all subjective. One thing is for sure, the new car is not ugly.
