I bought my first XDm pistol

I bought the "Full Size" 3.8 in OD Green/Stainless in 9mm. I will shoot and carry this for now and in 3 weeks I am ordering the XD Sub compact as well.

Bought it today, shooting it tomorrow.

Man my department just switched to FN Five Sevens. These things are rediculously accurate for a handgun. Honestly I don't understand why every police department in the states don't carry these. This is an absolute amazing handgun. Not much of a knock out punch like a .40 or .45 but good lord I can hit a penny from 50 ft. Those compact 3.8's are pretty awesome concealed carry weapons though.

holster

this is what i use and like it alot, great way to carry in your car. Black nylon holster features ambidextrous belt loops designed for left or right handed use. Fully adjustable thumb break with snap which can also be completely removed by user. Spare magazine pouch with Velcro retaining strap holds one double stacked magazine or 2 single stacked magazines, flashlight or pocket knife.

Damn man that is a nice set up. I am jealous. Can't do this in Ohio though has to be on your hip, in a lock box, or in the glove box. Even though I am a cop -.- .

I've been wanting one.

Problem I have with the five-seven is that I'd be on the hook for buying ammo from Elite Ammunition. So for now, I'll stick with my Sig and the department's gold dot.

that's awesome OP. i have been talking about getting an xd for the last week. I plan on purchasing one in the near future. I just need a left handed one, or ambidextrous one. i wonder if they make em.

I know the clip release is ambidextrous, but i would like the slide release on the other side as well.

I am on duty 24/7 technically and at any time I may need to help out an officer on a traffic stop even when I am off duty. Sucks that I need to take the extra few moments to get the keys and unlock the gun box in my car. BUT at the same time I wouldn't know if a guy I pulled over is a cop or not. So if I saw a gun in between his legs I would be quite concerned lol.

My buddy at another dept. issues some sort of sig. I shot it and it was really nice. It was a pretty heavy 9mm so didn't have much recoil. Whatever it was he said it cost about $1100. I don't know much about sigs maybe you have the same one.

But yeah I guess the 5.7 ammo is hard to come by. My dept. gives us 150 rounds a month for practice but that's all I get.
