Another Oil Change Question

The oil in my '15 SS was changed using synthetic oil a year ago. Since then, it's been driven less than 1,200 miles. Should the oil be changed?

There will be different opinions on this, but I would change it. Despite the few miles the car has been driven, I would not be comfortable leaving the same oil in a car like this for over a year, especially for the $100 or so it would cost to be safe.

Oil change - $100, engine swap - many thousands.

I agree. Once a year. Oil breaks down. I have a twenty five year old vehicle and I have changed oil in it 25 times. I would not be afraid to take it anywhere without worry of engine failure. (81000 miles on odometer)

I put less than 1500 on my car and I still do a change every six months. Like others say, the oil will start to break down.

I would do it twice a year too like stated. Oil does break down and also builds up in moisture

1 year max, oil turns acidic and will attack seals.

Modern oils, particularly synthetics, last longer then is commonly assumed. That said, I change the oil in my Camaro at the beginning of "driving season" in mid-March. I change my truck's oil bi-annually, primarily because of a lifetime warranty.

I get mine changed once/year. Only put 500 miles on it this year and getting it changed Saturday. Another thing that concerns me is the media in the filter. How long does it really last? So like stated above, better safe than sorry.

You only change the oil in your truck once every 2 years or did you mean semi-annually?
