Camaro Too Heavy and Two Slow ?
Alot of people are saying the car is too heavy. 3700-3900 pounds. But i notice its lighter than the challenger, around same with g37 with 3668, not much heavier . 2008 bmw m3 is 3700 pounds too. other cars are in the same range, such as the camry or mazda 6 even the honda v6 accord weights 3600 pounds and its not even in the same class . but the camaro will be twice less the price with the same power and better MPG than some of these cars ? so why are alot of people hating on the car ? Threw youtube postings and other websites other than this one course . my second question is people said its too slow. for the v6. 0 - 60 in 6.1. I seen reports they are going to make it 5.9 seconds when it comes out. 350z does 5.8 and ford mustang gT v8 does 5.4. the g37 does 5.5. so i don;t think thats slow at all. not to say its only going to be in the low 20's Prince range and yet good bang for the buck. I am going to get one as soon as it comes out but why so much hate for it ? i love this car. I don;t think its heavy or slow at all even the v6. the v6 is in the range of mustangs v8, I just don;t know if i should get the MT or Automatic, i have two cars, one of them is Mt and other is AT. Sometimes i wish i am driving the other such as when i am stuck in traffic,. or visa versa.
well whats ur opinion |

It's not too heavy or too slow. Don't worry. Our Camaro will crush the competition.

I find the new Camaro heavy. It looks like the Mustang and Challenger are all arounf the same weight. It would be nice to see a Camaro weigh the same as a Corvette.

I was told with the features the camaro will have such as IRS and since the corvette has its carbon-fiber body components, i think don;t it will weigh as same with it. maybe over the years, it will shave some pounds

The only way you are going to get the weight down on the Camaro and give us all things that are promised in the new car, would be to build it out of Aluminum (the whole car!), which is prohibitively expensive. You want a $50,000 BASE Camaro? Then keep asking for it to be everything we see in the pictures but 2,900 pounds. Otherwise, just enjoy what we are going to be getting!

it will probably gain weight over the years becuase of crap safety standards. Th e minute I get my challenger I am taking out both rear airbags because no one is sitting there anyways.

I think everyone should take a breath and step back for a moment. This individual looks to be pretty new, so let's cut them some slack

It seems like most of the ones complaining are the people spoiled by their 3500lb rickety 4th gens.
