Yeah, I change fluid since I race often and use the top of the line Castol SRF. If you’re just starting, I agree, won’t be going fast enough and would probably be good.

Pete does the auto cross at beech bend. Road Course is at NCM. Both would be a blast!

It is SO much fun. DO it ;o)

The local track I’m going to does this event once a month. I can see my money pit getting deeper. Already looking for 2 extra ZL1 front 5 spoke rims ;o)

At NCM take a touring lap session - 3 laps lead/follow — only available on non track event days — that is an experience— ask my wife Janice ;o) She had no ‘Oh SH**’ handle to hold onto...

It’s actually you and the lead car going around the track at speed. Can be scheduled anytime the track is open. May have others but when I went, Danny and I were the only ones on the track so, you can guess what he did — go FASTER ;o0.

Yep, wife said, never again ;o)

Doing some track day prep -- diff oil, Castrol SRF, speed bleeders ordered, checking brakes, 'death check' items, looking for some ZL1 5 spoke wheels (front -- got any? ;o) , the usual stuff, then I ran acrossed this:

for track days! This thing is INSANE how much air it flows - demoed it for the wife -- she hates me now as I blew up a boat load of dust ;o)

~4050 CFM when on HIGH speed -- just crazy -- I've my other fan for cooling the supercharger lid -- and it does ok, but this thing, can't wait to try it out.

I'll be bringing this with me for sure!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had a gift card and used it so saved some $$$...

Got me some track wheels!

Got a great deal -- all 4 OEM 5 Spoke ZL1 wheels for $700 + shipping -- can't wait to get them...

Looks like Some Toyo R888Rs are in the future! I wanted 'forged' OEM wheels so I can have a 'daily' driver set and a set for 'tracking'. I'm planning on doing about 1 event a month -- plus CFest.

Time for some FUN!

Very nice. I bought a spare set of ZL1 rims. They ended up on Sarah's car. Lol

I have a set of rears too with Drag Radials -- these wheels are getting harder to find so, I'm stocking up!

Can't wait to put the Toyo R888rs on these and give them a whirl @ Eagles Canyon...

Wife comes first ;o)

Yeah, those Toyos look awesome. Doing some research on them.

This article is interesting:

http://www.turnology.com/tech-storie...petition-tire/

Here is the real kicker:

Quote:
The R888R will improve traction with any vehicle but will remain more consistent when used on a vehicle heavy enough to keep the tread within the optimal temperature range like our Evo, but not too heavy as to overheat the tire. Toyo also recommends this tire for vehicles such as the BMW 3-series, BMW 4-series, Porsche 911, Porsche Cayman, Chevrolet Corvette and other welterweight vehicles of any drivetrain configuration.
May be our Camaros are going to be too heavy and over-heat these...

So much info to review...

Look into hankook RS3. We have those on back of Sarah's car. They were compared to other high end track tires and did better than expected. Beating the MPSS

Nice! Yeah really looking for something to track without going to slicks. I’ll be looking at several brands. Thanks for the recommendation...
