The circle things on top of the brake pads
Just recently put some new brake pads on my 2010 camaro and the dealership said I need to install factory brake pads because of the circular weights that are on top of the pads. Just curious as to what those are and what there purpose is, and do I need to use factory pads for the rear as well or is aftermarket the exact same thing

Dealership just wants you to spend money with them!!! Lot's of people buy aftermarket pads without the rollerskates with no issues at all. It's up to you.

O ok well i bought the factory ones cause i was told by the dealership that pads with those circle things would only work for the brembo braking system but i guess ill chalk this up as a lesson learned

For my driving habits, when I replace my factory pads they will be with factory pads, will I be able to reuse those roller skates, or will I need to replace them? Do they come with the new set of OEM pads? The OEM pads are more than efficient for my braking needs.
