best water spot remover?

Finally had a few warm days to melt the remaining snow and ice off my car. Did a very thorough wash and now there are big ugly water spots all over the hood roof and trunk that are impossible to remove! Can anyone recommend a good product for removing these spots?

Try using a clay bar first.. Carpro has just released a new product called 'spotless' looks promising.

Just got a new house, so I had to remove hard water spots from old house water too. Compound, polish, then wax. Will be as good as new.

Yes and so is the carpro spotless... compound is the last thing to try, not the first. Remember compound and polish is a type of a 'sanding' process removing clearcoat to make the defects disappear.

I usually get them off with an in between quick spray wax that you spray on and wipe right off. I use meguires and that seems to do the trick and way easier than clay bar if you don't have to do that, make that plan B.
Good Luck

I ordered a bottle of the Spotless stuff, looks promising. If that doesn't work I'll try clay.

Dude thank you for mentioning that Spotless product! Worked like a charm, in less than 2 minutes it took the worst of the spots right off. Definitely recommend it.

Yes, claying, chemical cleaning or very light polishing will not remove Opti-Coat
