Dealers here in Jacksonville, FL have the 2SS generally at around $39,000 for the auto not counting TTT and dealer fees.

Are you trading in a vehicle?

Also work down from invoice, do your research on the car and if you are trading in make sure you negotiate both separately.

You can build your car online, find the invoice/rebates/etc... look at a number that you want and if you don't get it feel free to walk. There are many other dealers. But you are looking at a 13 right when they are coming out but there isn't much difference between 2013 and 2012's minus mylink.

I read the entire thread and didn't see mention of coupe/convertible or any options (wheels, auto/manual, etc)... All of this stuff adds up. MSRP on mine was well north of $40k, 2SS/RS 'vert M6.

I say get the '13 then, if you can afford it go for it. Definitely learned to get the car you want instead of compromising and regretting it the entire length you own the car.

Wink New 2013

i ordered my 2013 2SS 2dr Coupe on June 22nd. No word yet from dealer as to delivery date. My options were Crystal Red Tintcoat, Black Leather Interior, 6.2 L V8 SFI, 6 Speed Manual Tranny, RS Package, Summer Tires and Midnight Silver Wheels, Body Color Grille, Quarter Flares (mud guards), Blade Spoiler, Dual Mode Performance Exhaust, Body-Color Painted Engine Cover, Illuminated Footwells and Cup Holders, Hurst Short Throw Shifter, Black Hockey Stripe Package, Radio w/ Navigation, and Gill Stripe Package. Discounted price is $41,400. I'm thinking I got a great deal. Compared 5 dealers. According to Edmunds.com, I should be trying to reach a target price of about $41,950. So I think I'm good!
Does anyone know how long it takes once the order is placed until I receive an email from GM letting me know the car is in production?

My mistake, target price came from carsdirect.com not edmunds.com.

Take 4% off just the car MSRP listed on window and 12% off all listed options...add the two together and you have a rough dealer invoice at which they can sell and still make money.

Here is the '12 invoice info:
