Camaro SS/RS/M6 -vs- Cadillac STS-V
We are looking at a Cadillac STS-V with a supercharged LS6. It looks like the Cadillac puts out more HP than my Camaro; 464 to 426.
Obviously the Cadillac is heavier but there is no way I can let my wife have a car that is faster than my Camaro...it's just not right. Before anyone says "do a search", I already did a search and I couldn't find any comparison between a Camaro SS/RS and a Cadillac STS-V. Russ |

Does she like to go fast?, cause yea, a supercharged LS6 would beat the SS, plus it has better brakes.

That is why GM needs to Supercharge the Camaro, c'mon GM, we can't be having the Caddy's faster than the SS Camaro.

I assume you mean a CTS-V right? The STS-V I believe has the 4.6L northstar engine with a supercharger. Which one are you talking about? The 04-07 CTS-V came with a 400 hp LS6, no supercharger.

the sts-v has a 4.4 liter 469hp dohc v8. it weighs 4200lbs. 8.95lbs/hp. very close to a SS.

I am talking about the STS-V, not the CTS-V. My error, I thought the STS-V had a super charged LS6 but as ASSASINATOR clarified the STS-V has a 4.4 liter 469hp dohc v8.
She likes the STS-V better than the CTS-V. She drove a CTS and the STS and liked the STS better, then when she found out there is an STS-V that may be faster than my Camaro, now that is what she wants. It's really shocking how cheap you can pick up a used CTS-V or STS-V, a couple of year old car with low miles you can get for around $25K. The STS-V when new I think was a $70K car...I'm sure someone will correct me if that is not right. My point is their resale value sux and it is surprising you can pick one up this cheap. Russ |

the sts-v is a marvel of engineering. it is a fabulous car. no flaws at all. i have an sls and love it. imagine 167 more hp. and rear wheel drive. very cool. get it for her, add a pulley, cai, and tune so she can whopp your ass.

We had one in our shop and I was pissed it was so fast. Now I am going with a chip, exhaust and headers just to catch up.

I chose the STS-V over a Camaro. It is really quick. I think the Camaro and the V run about even. It is nice to have a 4 door luxury car that can keep up with modern muscle cars. Props to GM.
