Towing Question
Hey all,
I'm planning on taking a trip to North Carolina this summer from NJ. I don't want to drive the Camaro there, but instead want to put it on a towed carrier (all four wheels type of thing) and rent a truck (pickup) to bring it there. Anyone have done this before, can give me some pointers and stuff like pricing and places to check out? Thanks alot! |

I just drove my camaro there for the holidays, the ride was awesome and everytime I stopped to fuel I would have to stop and let the kids get pictures with "black bumblebee"

Towing
I have had mine on two road trips over 1500 miles each way and have no complaints. The car is a good road trip car with plenty of trunk space and good range.
I have also towed it several times and you need a couple of pieces of wood under the front tires to clear the trailer. At least on a uhaul with my v6 and you have to find a low spot in the road for clearance to load or unload the car. Also the standard tire straps just barely fit the standard LT tires. I would just drive it. |

U-Haul or Penske? I think they all rent trucks and car trailers.

Theres a thread somewhere in the archives regarding Uhaul Towing..............but the jest of it is contary to rumor....that is, its not possible or its unordinary difficult. You may safely load & tow any Camaro. The Gen5 requires you use the W series UHaul AT aka ( Silver Colored Wide Track Auto Transporter. If you have any problems convincing your local dealer that the tow qualifies using the UHaul prequalification software......PM me. I'll get ya hooked up and in the Right equipment.
