I say if there is a 5th Gen Z, it will be maybe 100 or so. Probably come with a roll bar and not be real street friendly. But will be a MONSTER. Just a few made to whet the appetite for a true street friendly 6th Gen Z/28. And, if you are lucky to get one, they will be rare (assuming they make "any")...

6th Gen, too many models as it is for the 5th Gen. 1LE hasn't even came out yet, Hot Wheels edition, etc. Could they release it as a 2014 model? Sure but that would only leave them 2 years or so for a model run then the 6th Gen releases. To me that just doesn't make sense for Chevy to release a Z/28.

....GM in the recent past does 500 model runs of LTD ED's. The Gen 5 chasis needs no roll bar...unless NHRA specs requires one to have it if it runs under a certain time. Also there would be other requirements as well, driveshaft loops etc...On the road course it would not be needed. COPO is a off road full race drag strip configuration in it's current form. If the _ _ _ comes in a send off, expect an over the top HP model, using all that GM has to offer in house right now, with a few surprises, and it will be a 500-2,500 model run production. Just sayin....err, mean predictin'....

Rumor has it that the SS nameplate will be dropped from the Camaro line up and replaced with Z28 in the 6th Gen. SS will be used only on the new performance sedan coming out next year. I don't like that idea and at this point it is just a rumor.

That's how I expect it too. It will probably be a mediocre track car like the SS too.

If that's the case, then either the Z/28 won't be the car it should be in order to keep the base V8 cost comparable to other base V8s or it will be relatively expensive for a base V8.

My thought is they just need to come up with a better name than "SS" for this other car...seems kinda silly to me
