Sounds like it would be helpful on long drives. I usually ride about hour half or so once a week out town and cruising in the SS usually gives me a sore lower back by the end of the ride.

I went from a 2SS to a ZL1.
+1 on the bumpy roads, helps but also -Long drives or stuck in traffic is where I found it to be the biggest difference. So much more comfortable than the SS was. - Changing it to PTM 1- under Wet Conditions made a big difference too when it rains or light snow. I thought the ZL1 extra power/wider tires would be a problem in these conditions but honestly I felt like it was more surefooted than the SS. (both with the Sottozeros) |

To me, regardless of what options I was looking at, this would be the #1 "must have". |

The MRC is definitely worth it. It's one of the reasons I bought my car. I certainly wasn't expecting it to be a difference maker, but it was. For those fence sitting on the option, I would recommend test driving a current model ZL1 to help. Also, it's more than just shocks (the different modes also change the steering effort through the electric steering) and is controlled by the BCM so it won't be an option a dealer can install.

Let's put it this way: Ferrari used GM's MRC shock designs until they developed their own.

If you are intending to keep this car past the warranty and you are not into performance driving I would not get this option. My brother had 2 rear shocks leak on his ZL1 and a sensor for the MRC go bad 41000 miles the repair bill was $1400.00. The dealer said to him they have seen the front shocks go around 60.000 miles and he should think about replacing them also around $1400.00. also for the new be's. Brakes if you order the brembo brakes they are expensive to replace. 4 rotors and pads go between $1600.00 and $2200.00 and this is replacing them yourself a shop who know's. think and investigate before you check off the box's on that order sheet.

MRC isn't just for performance driving though. I have some rough roads around here and my 2LT 2014 drives me crazy when I run over them.
