89 IROC Z Running issue

Working on this car and it will not start on its own.
Squirt gas into intake and it will fire and run and idle fine.
It will idle for as long as you leave it alone, but if you move the throttle to rev it it dies within probably 20 seconds.
Fuel pressure is where it should be, have no security light coming on neither.
It does rev pretty good but will not stay running after that.
Squirt gas into intake and it will fire right up again. ?????

Try changing the throttle positioning sensor. It's that black plastic switch on the left side of the throttle plate. About $20 bucks.

Do you have a chiltons or haynes manual? Before you swap out the sensor, check it's voltage while it's idling. You may find you just need to adjust it which is easy to do.

I don't know if this car has been sitting for a while or not as this is your first post. (welcome!)

This link is sort of a walk through on the TPS with some helpful Q & A
