One would assume so as it's already available on the 2SS.

That's what we're being competitive with, so I'm guessing about the same to just under 50k. 55-57k all loaded up with options.

.
If they make the SSX rims as an option, the Stripe down the center and the Traction Management, thats easily over $55-57k. You think the GM rims being offered now are what, $4,xxx? I'm sure you'll be able to add the Heritage Grille as well and Gas cap cover and whatever else. I get what your saying though, i just think it'll be over the $57k figure for a FULLY loaded ZL-1.

thanks for the additional info. still don't care for the auto though. I'll take mine in a manual. And I hope they don't do convertibles. I'm getting more excited everyday.

You may be right.

I like the idea of having the manual and auto. It lets more people who want one able to get one. And if they aim to compete with the Shelby, the convertible is probably inevitable at some point. Hopefully along with a auto and manual 427 Z28 to compete with the Boss 302.

I figure after the first year or two we will see a convertible. As for the Z28 I am wondering if this gen we will see it or if next gen we will see it. And I am glad for the auto option. I don't mind a manual and find them fun at times, but at the end of the day an auto is much more enjoyable with how traffic is nowadays at least in my area.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Relax, people. 551hp is "more" than 550, too.

Actually Al said it would have more than the CTS-V, which is rated at 556hp. But do you honestly believe they are going to add just 1hp extra after making a statement like that?

Understood; but the title and body of this story on camaro5.com used 550hp as the number. 557?

I hope they add another 40 hp before the next GT500 eats its lunch.

It will eat the Shelby with only the 556......the CTS V does that with extra weight. Hell.....I ate Shelbys with 550 in my SS.

The problem with the GT500 is grip, not power. They can add 50 hp if they like, but if it can't manage to put it down ... . 305s, MR suspension, & PTM will go a long way towards maximizing available grip in the ZL1
