I'll get my 4 pack gauges chrome plated and install them myself.

power up
One thing I'll add is, with an end connector in the harness, it may be dead and have to be activated, turned on, through the ECM/ECU.

The area where the tic toc gauges would be placed on the console are shown at this link, http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10822
It appears that a tray resides where the gauge would go. I am assuming the tray comes out and the gauge sits right in its place. Hopefully the entire console will not have to be replaced. |

Anyone have any new info on the 4-pack gauge set being available as a purchase from the dealer? I would like to buy one for my 1SS after it arrives. I wish GM would make this an available option for the 1SS; not sure why this would be dificult for them. TIA!

Exactly. I almost went with the 2SS package just to get the factory, retro-looking gauges. The car retains its value better with GM parts vs non GM parts, IMO.
GM, Why is this not an option for the 1SS? (ie I am willing to give you more money if you will take it) TIA!

I am getting the 4-pack and would rather not have it... I want to mount a GPS down there...
Since we are both in Bama (btw...Roll Tide!), I might not have a problem swapping it if the install is easy.... I still need to see what it looks like (w/ vs. w/out) in person before I commit to getting rid of it. |

because that's another reason to justify paying extra for a 2SS

I added aftermarket guages on my 69 and payed 400 for wiring harness/guages. I'd guess they will be in that same range maybe a little less and like you guys said wire harness will be in place.

You are exactly right. That is unfortunate that GM is run in that manner also.
For people that only like the 4-pack gauge option of the entire 2SS package, I cannot see them saying well, I'll spend an extra $3400 just to get the gauges even though I don't care about leather, USB, Bluetooth, Heated Seats, etc. Too me, its poor marketing. I'll buy one from the dealer (or from a local Tide Fan ) and drop it in myself. It would just be easier, and I'd appreciate GM more if they would think of their customers more instead of thier bottom line. Actually thinking about their customers more would improve thier bottom line.
