What are your thoughts on E3 Spark Plugs for the LS3?

I haven't heard anything good about them.

This is not a new gimmick, there have been many variants of this same design over the years.
Instead of one electrode they welded on three and called it E3. Maybe the next version they will weld on 6 and call it an E6 for the V6 and have an E8 for a V8? Here is one for a Model T called a "Flame Spinning Plug": Here are some other oldies: Ron

Rather use my NGK tr6ix than chance them from what I have heard. And spark is not going to jump that much better for more complete combustion as there is a single electrode tip even in theory.

Tried them a few years back nothing but issues. Even had cars come into the shop complaining about rough idle and misfires when we told them it was the plugs and switched them out with ngk/ac delco, they thought we were trying to get one over on them because most had them in for under 5000 miles. They work great in law mowers cars in my opinion you would be better off sticking with a typical type of plug.

It does'nt matter how many side electrodes there are, the spark will only jump to one, the path of least resistance. Like Moto-Mojo says..snake oil.

Just thought I'd ask.
NHRA is giving them a lot of press lately. |

Put a brand new set in a 5.3L Z71 ran fine for 200 or so miles and then develop a miss so violent it would shut my engine off at a red light. Put Delco plugs back in it and I am 20K miles strong right now.....
THESE PLUGS ARE NOT WORTH THE BOX THEY COME IN!! |

The only "gimmicky" plugs that I have used to great success are the NGK V-power plugs. The fact that they guide the spark towards the outside of the electrode seems to work pretty well from past experience. Other than that, regular Iridium plugs are just fine.
