Sure you can, if I was to get one and put it my Camaro, that would be a custom car build, wouln't it? Just joking, it could be done though. Chevy does use the same motor mount config on all of their V8s.

Realisticly though, many of these crate motors do not meet EPA standards. That is why it says they are intended for track or offroad use only, or pre 1979 vehicle. Doesn't mean it can't be done. GM doesn't care what you eventually put it in. I'm sure when you accept a motor like this that you are implying that you are not going to use it on the highways. DMV and EPA however would frown on it.

you misunderstood me, yes they share the same mounts, i was simply reitterating that you cannot order these engines from the factory incase someone didnt know what a crate engine is.

WoW..... 8260 RPM when I paused the video at the very end..... and if you store a crank on its side on for a LONG period yes you can damage it. You should stand it up on the end. I am sure that if you store it with support on its side it would be ok or even just for a short time before the install. They come in a box on there side but like I said they have to be supported correctly.

Why not, people drop 7.0 426's from PPP in their mopars and they are crate engines

and many of them are emission legal with 600+ HP

I don't get what your saying

That you can't buy this engine from GM but from someone else?

I just wonder if the stock 6 speed in my future Camaro will be able to handle the added power, and will I be able to put it to the ground properly.

The car will not leave Oshawa with one of those engines. You can install it yourself after ordering it from GMPP, or have a shop install it, probably even a dealer. But there will not be a check box on the order form for your Camaro to get an LSX.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD

but yeah that is what i meant. If you offer the car with the engine and people order if it will have to be averaged into the CAFE score which hurts gm.
