ZL1 hood vents & water

Does anyone know if this car will be able to be driven in the rain without it flooding the engine compartment or even be kept outside ? Looks like it will funnel water right into the engine.

I am sure they will accommodate any water through the vents and run it off to the sides.

It will be an all weather powerhouse!

Funny you should ask... I was thinking the same thing. One hood option I have not seen on any of these Camaros is a spin off of the old SS Chevelle Cowl Induction. My buddy had a 1970 454 and I thought that was one trick hood and intake system. I have absolutely no idea how efficient it was in producing horsepower or airflow but it sure was cool to watch work.

As You can see from this picture how they designed it to scoop the water and channel it to the front and I'm sure as the hood closes, the channel matches a gateway for the water to get out without getting into engine bay.

It looks like it dumps down the passenger side in front of the engine.

They even tested this thing in the snow, I'm not worried about rain.

They want this thing to be all-weather proof for 100,000 miles or whatever so I think if there's anything you have thought of, they have thought of it too, and then fixed it.

if you payed attention you would notice the air intake is not even close to the hood vents....millions of dollars of R&D and "oh damn what if it rains"....really

Don't they drive through what is, effectively 9" of water, among other things for water injestion?

Yes, but did GM put it through the "kids with hoses" water torture test?
