LS3 w/ Turbo - Oil Questions
I have an LS3 with the Turbonetics 76mm kit. About ready to do my first oil change. Do I need to run a different weight oil with having a turbo? Thinking of running AMSOIL 5W-30 Signature Series 100% Synthetic Motor Oil. Any recommendations on this?

I use regular synthetic 5w30 in my truck. 6.0 LQ9 with a Turbonetics 76mm ball bearing snail on it.

Amsoil is an excellent product, I'd say that would be a very good choice.

run your oil according to temp..so if ur like in az tx etc a 10 40 or 15 40 will be good.....also do u drive hard etc...this will either mean a slightly higher viscosity or more oil changes. in cold climates i say stick with 5 30 only. I will run 5 30 in wineter ...next summer i will go with a 10 40 or 15 50..mobil or amsoil

I'm runnig the Amsoil... change it seasonally due to the extreme heat we've had here this summer, and I'm also looking to add an oil cooler somewhat more substantial than that silly block of plates on the side of the motor...

A oil/coolant heat exchanger like the one on the LS3/L99 is much more efficient at temp control than a oil/air cooler. But, adding a turbo could push the intended design limits of the OEM sized cooler. What oil temps are you seeing that you think you need better or added oil cooling?

I talked with Ted @ JRE and he said to stick with Mobile 1 10-30. He knows his stuff so am going with that.
