I just upgraded to a SS yesterday and its a night and day difference the V6 is fine for what it is just it doesnt have that low end Tq so u have to spin it up to get that pushed in seat feeling. If u do test drive a SS u will end up wanting it so bad and it will nag u more than ur wife jk. So just dont test drive a SS and u should be able to be fine.

I did that, test drove an SS. My initial feelings were:

- Nice pulling sensation in low part of band - downside: mpg I guess
- Very cool rumbling/gurgling sound from exhaust that I could hear through the top easily -downside: I could hear it through the convertible top easily, in fact I could hear EVERYTHING through the top easily (like going under an overpass, very noisy). I've never had a vert, so maybe just not used to it.
- Nice handling on the off ramps and lane changes, etc. -downside: harsh on these New England roads

I'd get an SS, sure, but unsure about convertible. If I get a coupe, do you still hear the exhaust "gurgle"?

yea u hear the exhaust gurgle still with the coupe still its prolly not as loud as conv. but ive never have test drove a conv. one. But if u want more exhaust sound there are alot of aftermarket exhaust that is a nice comprimise between loud and no drone.

I have already got 2 speeding tickets in it so it's not like it isn't fast. But I just can't get the SS out of head. I keep thinking I could get a used 10 or 11 with everything I want for about what I owe on my LS. If I could get a decent trade in offer. I've got 14,000 on my '11. Plus I love my black Camaro but I'm tired of trying so hard to keep the swirl marks out. I'm thinking a silver SS with rally stripes would be sweet. Or maybe Victory Red with white stripes, oh yea!
So V6ers talk me down please, tell me how impractical I'm being. I store the LS in the winter but I'm not sure how long my winter car will last. I just need to get over this SS obsession.
Stop, don't give into the forcepower

Looked at the Cruze... Didn't care for it. Too small in the back.
