V6 Tune?

Hey everybody, I was hoping someone could answer this for me. I was looking into getting a tune for my 2011 V6 and was told that it wasn't possible. Is that true? And if not, how would I go about doing it? What would I need? I appreciate the help because I'm really a noob when it comes to tuning. Thanks!

I see you have a 2011 LLT like me...well the tuning really isnt too big of a process. There arent many options for our cars because of the ECU but out of all my mods the tune was by far my favorite mod. I have had the Trifecta tune for a good while now and have had no issues. Bought it from Bad News Racing, you send them your vin with all of your supporting mods. They send you a email tune. You download the software and plug it up to your car with the cable and youre set to go! People say it voids your warranty but I think on the v6 tunes wont show up at a dealership if something major goes wrong. I have Trifecta like I mentioned with the Tactrix cable but am currently putting on an IPF SC kit and no longer need it. If you decide to go Trifecta let me know and I can give you a killer deal for the cable!

Wow thanks for responding so fast! Yeah I'd definitely be interested too. What do you download the tune to, your computer? Then connect that to your car via the cable? And how much is one from Bad News Racing? Sorry for all the questions

I found out you buy the specific tune from Bad News Racing or Trifecta and then either buy a cable or put money down as a deposit to use one. The you download the tune out of the email and transfer it via the cable to your car. It says it supports Windows so I don't know about Mac. It's also about $300 from Bad News Racing.

Trifecta from Bad News Racing has a GREAT tune for auto trans. Great guys to work with also. Talked to the guy from IPF at the Fest last year and they offered me a free tune to use my engine cover. Since I already had a tune I sent another couple from Iowa their way and they set them up. They loved it! So either way you can't go wrong.

Im about to throw on LT headers on my 2011 LLT and would also like to get a tune. Not just to clear the inevitable CEL but get the performance increase. I drive an Automatic. How specific on the mods/car do I need to be to get a good tune file. I would need to acquire a cable too.
