9.3@155mph and 1st place in unlimited@C5fest

Didnt have a clean pass all weekend.

I made 2 passes on Friday. the first was a 9.6@150 letting out early. on the second pass we had a decent launch then at the 1000' the cog belt on the procharger snapped and we coasted to a 9.6 but at only 120mph. I installed a new cog belt then noticed when the old belt came apart it destroyed the plastic line that runs to the top of the BOV. So our Friday was over. On a brighter note, even with coasting to a 9.6@120. we still ended up as the #1 qualifier. So i got everything packed back into the trailer and and the family and I took a trip to Ace hardware. I bought a install kit for a icemaker water line for a refrigerator. I stole the plastic line out of it and made a new BOV tube and we were back up and running.

Saturday and Eliminations-

At this point I had 2 Cog belts left. We decided to skip the 3rd elimination round in order to save the remaining belts for eliminations. As luck would have it, we pulled a Bye in the 1st round and didnt have to make a pass (further saving us damage to the belt).

2nd round we drew a beautiful white 6th gen which i believe ran a 10.1-.3. I was still trying to get the car to hook but it wasnt working. after spinning off the hit, we made up ground and came around the 6th gen for the win.

3rd round was against the 2nd fastest camaro of the event (Kevin Martin's Red 6th gen). Easrlier in the day this car went a 9.6@140mph. So i knew i had to be on my A game for this race. Left the line EXTREMELY soft so it wouldnt spin the tires. it worked, car had its best 60' of the event 1.5 (which is still terrible for this car since its usually in the 1.3s) But since we had a decent start the car made its best pass of the event. 9.3@155mph. With that it sent us into the finals against Rhino of GPI and his monster NA 5th gen.

Finals- I have always been a huge fan of Ryans car so it was awesome to get to race him in the finals. Plus it was the closest race of the weekend for me. Like a dummy, I decided to Stall the car up on the starting line and try to launch it. this was a terrible idea, the car blew the tires off and went to a 1.7 sixty (worst of the weekend) lucky the F1X made enought power to close the gap Ryan put on me for the first half of the track and was able to pull around him at the end of the track for the win.

We had a blast this weekend and made a ton of new friends. Cant wait to get this new susp lined out and see what this car is capable of. Going 155mph in the heat is crazy, Im pretty excited for fall air and a sticky track.
