Pictures of the underside of my SS, with rust treatment

I have not found another thread that shows the bottom end of the stock 2011 SS...especially one like mine that was blasted with rust treatment upon delivery, so here I post.

I live in Canada where winter gets pretty nasty and I have to tell you that my SS is awesome in winter as a daily driver! Before you get on my butt for driving a 2011 2SS/RS M6 OEM Hurst shifter car all year round in Montreal, relax! I drive cars as, they are meant to be driven. The Camaro shows itself to be a versatile and capable car indeed! ;')

So if anyone could post the undersides of their 5th gen Camaros, I could see what my car looked like right before I took delivery. If anyone wanted to see such pictures, feel free to post more!

I will post some nice body pics as well so you can see how sweet this Camaro is, bone stock!

Used 75 Camaro = $3500
Rolling restoration over 10 years = $5000
$5 of gas burned in 10 seconds = Priceless!

I live in South Dakota and the winters here are pretty nasty. I didn't want to subject my car to the salty elements or the host of bad winter drivers so I just bought a used jeep for the 5 months I wont drive the Camaro. I know she'll be just like I left her next spring and with low miles. You got more nerves than I do! Sorry I have no underbody pics to add.

iPhoto is a POS and I am trying to figure out how to resize my images as they cannot be posted full size. I like my PC way better than my MAC! Gimme a sec...

Sorry about the delay in posting those pictures, I had issues with my iPhotos... Bought a MAC for another room and I have to admit, I prefer my OLDER PC to this newer MAC! eB

It was a $750 option that also included an "active" rust inhibitor that is stuck right to the front shock tower where it flashes an LED constantly and is connected to a sister unit that also is stuck right to the bare metal in front.

Apparently it "negatively charges" the steel of the body of the car, preventing the "cause" of rust. Not too sure, but I paid up NP as I want to drive my Camaro all year round. I will go take some pictures of the under hood area that is pretty nasty with all the anti-rust "goo" but it does seem to be doing the job on a 2006 HOnda FIT that I also own.

That's going to make future suspension mods a PIA, but definitely worth it for the rust protection.

Nice pics and good decision if you do winter driving..

Also eB we missed you all summer long, we expected to see you at some meets and mostly the BBOMG Oshawa Meet where we had a great time and lots of Gen5's.

Maybe we'll see you next season...

Here's a pic of my car beside yours last spring. I did some mods since.

If you ever want to replace the trailing arms, toe arms, or any other suspension part you have to scrape the coating off first.

I don't believe so, usually dealerships have the equipment to do it.

I treated my Honda FIT with this type of dealer installed anti-rust treatment and other cars I used an oil based product (Metropolitan in Montreal) every year and I have had great results. This is the first time I also used the little electronic assistance as well. I will let you know if my Camaro rusts out but I think it will do fine! eB
