FYI ,
I changed mine at 1000 mi. and it took 6 qts ( 3.6L ) .. Owners Manual , section 11-2 : 3.6L takes 6 qts w/filter (5w30) 6.2L takes 8 qts w/filter (5w30) NOTE : Owners Manual , section 9-10,11&12 : **10w-40 / 20w-50 or any other Viscosity Grade Oil is "NOT RECOMMENDED" in 3.6L and 6.2L (L99 & LS3)** I changed mine at 1000 mi. and it took 6 qts ( 3.6L ) .. |

I changed mine the other day and put 15W-50 Mobil 1 in.... that is what LPE recommends for the S/C engine in the summer - 10W-30 in the cooler months.
