The title of this thread is "ZL1 vs n/a modded SS". He was answering the question, so what was the purpose of your comment?

I've had both cars

A good driver in a M6 bolt on only SS... With 3.90 gear
430rwhp

No heads or cam needed

Can beat a stock zl1

Zl1s are HEAVY

You could modify a n/a SS to outrun the ZL-1 I'm sure. But remember, when you do heavy modifications like that you usually decrease the lifespan of the car and you also decrease its value from stock condition. So to get this ZL-1, you would have to sink a good bit of $ into the SS, probably make it less daily driver friendly (if you had that in mind), and reduce its salvage value later. But could you mod one to beat a ZL-1? Sure. In America, if you have the $ you can do pretty much anything.

A public forum usually generates personal opinions or opinionated statements. In other words I felt like it, no need to get emo on me.

Nah, I might have misread, but you seemed mad that he would compare the two cars when that was the very purpose of this thread. Don't worry, I'm not emo because I'm selling my car anyway for something better.

Noooo I'm not mad. I love this forum too much to have it effect my mental state. Tons of great members on this forum and the amount of knowledge here can't be compared to any other forum that I have ever been apart of. I love it!

Sorry to hear your selling your car. Hope everything works out for you.

Enjoy your car mods because it won't take much.....
Some need to realize they didn't race against the ZL1....
Rather they raced the driver of the ZL1.....

Have you seen this....

ZL1 envy?

Why does everyone want to compare their modded car to a stock ZL1? Why not modded to modded or stock to stock. You can build a Vega to beat a stock ZL1 in the 1/4. And if you build a SS to beat a ZL1 it is still an SS. Now I am going to out on a limb and just guess it is jealousy!

My Lethal SS destroys stock ZLs.
2013 Suspension but 510+ at the rear and no S/C Heatsoak.

Had no issues showing vettes ( even a few modified) my tails on MSR road course as well.

Zl1's are slow, lol

I would say a bolt-on and cammed SS on DR's would certainly kill a stock Zl1. Take away the dr's on the ss and it becomes a drivers race. Add dr's to the zl1 and it should take it, or be real close. This is assuming the great equalizer...EQUAL DRIVERS. Add damn near any power adding mod to the Z and it's gone. My 231 cam, exhaust, bolt on SS ran high 11's or skinnies and hoosier dr's. My ZL1 on the exact same wheels from my ss ran a best of 11.59 stock. Take away the wheels and it would be very close. Not every Zl1 runs the mid twelves that seem so common on these cars

Really? Why do all you SS owners always compare your cars to a ZL1 then?
