Just aiming for 600hp. Heads or just more bottle?

Well it is that time of the year, modding season and I'm currently sitting at 520hp/585tq with a vvt-1 cam, headers, knn intake, and 100 shot. (set of racestar 17s all around)

ordered are 3.91 gears
circle d 3200 stall

question is, logically it would be cheaper to just toss more bottle on the car with a dedicated fuel system for some added saftey, but would it be less stress to add ported heads and keep the same size pills i'm running now? i'm not concerned with n/a numbers either.

which would you choose? heads or bigger shot? I feel touching 600hp would make my goal obtainable.

i'm aiming for a 10.9x at 12xmph hopefully. any thoughts for confirmation would be greatly accepted.

Not going to get anywhere near 600 with the heads, bigger bottle going to give you a lot more hp. Probably get 20-30 with heads depending what you go with

yeah i'm just going with a 150 and going to hit up rhino for tuning in late feb to dial everything in with the stall. from everything i've been looking at i won't need 600 for 10s

Why not get a bigger stall? Like a 3600-3800?

I have Cam (LS3 Conversion)/Heads/Stall/3.91s and do consistent 1.49/1.50 60fts. Best ET as of last season was 11.11 @ 122mph. I will most likely crack 10.99 in a cpl mths after a few small changes. Still Naturally Aspirated tho.

what rpm/gear are you hitting the traps in? and i wanted a 3200ish stall because it will flash some when i leave on bottle. been wanting to pick someone's brain about 3.91's but in an older thread rhino pretty much summed up 3.91 with bottle would be over kill so i'm keeping the 3.27s and going to 26" tall tires bringing me to a 3.50ish gear ratio. but still curious about your rpm in fourth.

The best streetable cam with the best headers and a good CAI will get you 495 RWHP, Add LS3 ported Heads on a small bore/Stroke 23 to 27 HP and that's Fly wheel HP. Add a bigger TB and After market intake maybe another 25 hp on a 376 stroke.

Here is an article that may be interesting...

http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/...der-head-swap/

Now this doesn't count for MAST black label there Heads will give you 35 hp..

If you did a Stroker and the heads You would make 600 RWHP !

By far the NOS is the cheapest. Or piece together LSA blower seem to be all over ebay.

FYI..

My friends SS 1LE 2013 with phaft headers, Cold air Ind CAI, and the Night Furry raced a guy with GM LS9 Cam and GM CNC LS3 heads with upgraded valves springs and retainer. He also had nos.

1st race no nos, 1LE all the way wasn't even close
2nd race 75 shot still the 1LE bay a few cars
3rd race 150 shot 1LE barely Lost

I think the 3.73 or manual rear end would be better not the 3.91 for an automatic post around and your see the majority..

I am manual and want to sell mine to auto guy to lesson the blow of a 3.91 for me. Win Win for both if us!
