WOW ! sorry for all the bad luck .
the dealership has a quick lube shop and a repair shop the QL guys are very informed about most cars that come across lane but synthetic oil is common in most GM shops like the new dexso oil they have it on site and use it in 2011 and up cars .
Mobil 1 was formulated for an all aluminum engines like the first lt1 corvettes because of the small oil galleys and less friction and carbon build up .
I would use what ever is recommended by the manufacture that meets or exceeds specification's , it cant hurt to change it sooner than the oil life monitor indicates as well .

Camaro Corvette GTO GM truck performance tuning in Tampa fl

After paying dealership cost on my first oil change, I never went back. I bought a jack, oil drum, oil and filter and it still cost me less. Ever since then, Ive done it myself. 15 minutes.
