No EGR?

It looks like I'll be keeping my 2012 1SS for a while, so I want to do some longevity mods. So oil catch can and EGR block plate is standard. But I can't find any information on the EGR system nor can I identify the system under the hood. Does it even have one?

Egr is built into the cam grind and has been for a while. No worries.

It's built into the Cam grind? What's that? And how do you block it off?

Wait, you mean the egr is controlled by Cam over lap? There is no external egr system? Is there a problem with soot from egr in the ls6 motors?

Nevermind that I said that. Egr is in place to reduce NOx. There is no longer a need to have an egr valve to recirculate exhaust gas because the small amount exhaust gas left in the cylinder due to valve opening and closing events(cam) is enough to satisfy the government. Don't worry about egr unless your camaro has a duramax or powerstroke.

There is not enough soot in a gas engine to cause any problems. Yup, a good catch can will do ya good.
