Lower Lip Plasti Dip Black out [HI RES PICS]
Just got around to blacking out the lower lip with plasti dip. Thanks to some great threads around here on the application process . It needs another round of finishing around the edges but looks ok I guess at least for a NOOB like me who's never held a can before. One thing that I could not find earlier here was hi res pics so thought I'd post them up. So here you go.

That came out real nice!
Its hard to get the project to be exactly perfect, but hell its removable so who cares right?! lol Besides the average Joe that walks by won't notice the imperfections anyway. I did my front bumper by the grill and it still looks good.

pm sent
Included for everyone elses info I do about 3 coats 1 light coat wait 30 sec then heavy coat wait 30 seconds inspect it during those 30 seconds (so you know where to get more on) then last heavy coat making sure to get everything (inspecting as you go) then wait 30 seconds and pull all tape. I'm gonna do a how to vid as soon as I get some time I'm training 5-6 days a week for MMA working 45+ hours at work and still trying to keep the wife happy. but I have all next week off so I will do it then. (going to tag the spoiler also)

What worked for me was just one thick coat rather than multiple thin coats. I get to all the places that are not near the tape first and once I am completely done with the center parts then just do the edges at one go and then remove the tapes. If you go the multiple coats route then you would need to retape it again when you go for the next coat.
The problem with waiting too long is that the plastidip will peel of unevenly on the edges if you wait until it is dry or even semidry and it takes just a minute for it to become semi dry. |

OK, gotta ask, is'nt plasti dip the same stuff we used to dip our plier handles into? If it is removable, what if I like it and want it to stay on? Almost sounds like painting your car with water color, if you do not like it, wash it off and try again. Or is that the reason behind using plasti dip?

it should stay on for awhile. and if it gets messed up or what not just touch it up or redo it... Its so easy to work with that re doing it isn't that hard. Most of the time I use it to see how something would look and I keel it on till I get the the vinyl installed
