Adding RS headlights to a non RS
Its been 2 years+ form the time my car came off the line with out the RS parts like was ordered on day one, Long story.
Thanks to camaro2lt who had a set that need to be fixed, broken tabs and housings, welded all the plastic parts back on, Yesterday was the day to mount them on the car, But need to make a harness for the head lights. Got the RS side connecters and found some non rs receptacle connecter, I now there are outer ppl that make a harness, But from all that i have seen there going to be on all the time and on a non RS, Non Rs car use the headlight as the DRL's, Dont think the headlight will live a long time that way. Here is what was done, in the harness we add a relay that cuts in the DRL wire and is trigger when the night time sensor comes on it trips the relay and your head light come on, So we did to things here no more DRL's and light are completely automatic, One last thing i added the LED side marker that are turn signals at the same time. Here are some pics of the harness and you can see the relay. |
