Nothing was mentioned about a dealer fee. If they try to charge it, I'll tell them to give my deposit back.

I'm next door in Southwest Ranches. Wassup!
Dealer fees are additional profit, plain and simple. The consensus is we have some of the weasliest dealers in the world down here. I worked for Maroone, I can tell you - yuck! Ed Morse Sawgrass - holy crap crooks Lou Bachsnot - varied reports Supermans got f'ed in Dade county. All my future purchases of new cars will be done online. You may want to check the Corvette Forum's Dealer Inventory thread. They are all selling Camaros too. They "courtesy delivery" them to our local dealers. Camaro Scotty and Team Lynn are doing this too, but I don't know their allocation situation.

LOL - Maroone's the least weasily, huh?
If you want to pursue the local dealer route... Get an emailed quote from an online dealer, email it to the local weasels, and say - "I'm ready to place my order, here's my quote for a courtesy delivery, can you meet or beat this price?" You could do it all by email, that way you have a record. Not that these weasels lie and cheat or anything.

The way I figure it, they deserve about $1000 total to fill out some paperwork.
They think they should get much more. Shop around online. fbod always says there's 4000 chevy dealers, don't feel trapped by your local ones. Dan

tell them flat out to take it off or you walk. GM already pays the dealers the $600 "dealer fee" which is actually a prep free like washing the car, removing the plastic, filling the tank, etc.

I went with Courtesy at the airport. They said nothing of any additional fees. "MSRP or Less with any applicable incentives." I called Classic/Holler and they wanted $2500 OVER MSRP I think it was. I laughed, told the salesperson they were morons, and hung up. The other Courtesy on colonial was also doing MSRP but wouldn't agree to accepting incentives if GM is honoring them.

The paperwork fee is normally $50-100 bucks. Are you sure this is not destination fee? Which is how they pay for shipping on the train and truck.

Paperwork is included in the dealer prep fee which is paid for by GM. If you are paying for them to do the paperwork you're being ripped off.

$1000 total deal is plenty of profit. Ed Morse Weaselgrass negotiated through email with me on a new Corvette. I emailed, I'm not paying any dealer fees, quote me total price. They did. Took two months for car to come in. Guess what? Papaerwork fees of $549 magically appreared, and the price was not the one negotiated either. Brought in printed emails, watched sales mgr jaw drop. What pure theives they are. I sold cars at one time, and I know what is reasonable, fair, and legal.
