Does anyone have the GM Exhaust system?

I have the 45th anniversary 2SS convertible automatic. I would have to say I am very disappointed in its sound. I owned a 30th anniversary SS with ram air, and the "throaty" sound is what I yearn. Just curious if anyone has had the GM exhaust system installed on their Camaro and if it improves the sound to make it more muscley? I know there are other after-market brands of exhaust systems, but it is unclear to me if I modify with something besides a GM product if my warranty would be void. Any comments/advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Adding any aftermarket exhaust won't void your warranty.
I have the M6 45th Vert. I got to hear the GMPP mufflers on another members car at a meet up last year and liked it.
That said, most exhausts won't fit on our Convertibles. You have to make sure that you get one for a Convertible.

I have read that the gmpp system is made by borla and is similar to the s-type muffler. I have the stype and love it so you might give that a look.

I had the GMPP on my 2010 SS. It sounded very nice. I have been told, not confirmed, that it is made by Borla. Be sure not to get the 4" tips, the exhaust tips are close to the diffuser and will melt the plastic. I was shocked when I returned to my car after driving all day and seeing a large part of plastic dripping down. I was able to Dremel the melted plastic off and bring to a more normal look.

Just do a muffler delete.
No need to pay for expensive exhaust system.
Car sounds 1000 times better without it

I have it and I really like it. The exhaust tone is deep and you know you have a V8 when you start it up, yet, it's not super loud like other exhausts can be (a big + for me). Check out some clips in YouTube to give you a better idea of it.

It is definitely one of the more tame sounding exhausts, but sounds good!

Best regards,

An aftermarket system would only void the warranty on the parts of the exhaust that have been replaced as GM will not warrant any parts from Corsa or Borla for example. That being said, the GMPP exhaust is not much louder than stock and is comparable to a Borla TOURING exhaust, not the S-type as a previous poster stated. The S-type is significantly louder (not ATAK loud but loud nonetheless). Hope that helps and congrats on the 45th OP
