90% set on 2LT but...

...I'm worried I'll have v8 envy. I would no doubt love to have a SS, but for me, financially might not be wise.

I've ALWAYS wanted a Camaro, and this is my chance. I've driven LS1's (300hp) and they're plenty quick, but obviously I'm going to mod in the future.

Any v6 owners 2nd guessing their descision? I just don't want to get the v6 and feel its not enough. But I can't strap myself and be broke all the time for an SS. Im so confused...

I'm in the same situation...I think I would be mad at myself if I found out the v8 would've been workable for me

I have a V6 and I care less now about the V8 than I did. I love my car.

The way I look at it.... I'm in it for the looks! What is under the hood makes no difference to me since with the V6's 304 HP it's all I'll need to blow away any Mustang that feels like challenging me. That, and I just find it hard to justify the $7,000 Canadian Price difference between a loaded 1LT / RS and a Base 1SS / RS with similar options.

LT = Buying for Looks!
SS = Buying for Ego and Bragging rights!

True. Plus I need an auto(wife cant drive stick) so that bumps my price too. We'll see when the time comes but I'm hoping the v6 will satify my lead foot =)

I used to drive my friends 4th gen v6 5 speed and that sucker was fun to drive! I'm sure the 2LT will blow the doors off that. =)

Maybe I should just get a 4th gen z28 for $12k and call it a day... naw!

Keep an eye out for what the v6 guys are doing. Having the same peak power as the SS minus 200lbs. The only thing you'll miss is the sound of the V8.

Then you'll have to listen to exhaust note sound clips and decide for yourself. Have you heard that avenger with the 3.5L v-6? That's a mans engine right there!

But ultimately pick something you will be happy with. If your buying this car on a purely emotional level and need that satisfied you won't be happy with anything less.

Buy the car you can afford and enjoy it. If you get a car that will strap you and you have to worry about the payment every month, do you think you will enjoy the car? It is a beautiful car so buy the V6 and enjoy!

Take the time to Drive both cars - that's the only way to settle your question.

OK, there is a $4,000 difference. But, you are thinking to do mods which will cost you a couple of thousands. GM is mightly struggling as are all other auto makers. Wait for a little bit, save some more money (including the money you will spend on mods) and might see a great deal on V8's. Cash is the king in the current ecomonic situation. Good thing may happen to those who wait.

Ya, thats what I'll have to do. I already know I have to wait until next year to get the car. I make a decent living, but I'm not loaded. I just bought a house and it seems like Im blowing all my cash on it, haha.

If I got an 1SS, the only mod I would do within the first few years is exhaust because 400hp is nice! Ive only owned slow crappy cars. But I like the idea of a fully loaded 2lt/rs. I want those Halo lights
