Not bad but then you will have to cut the wires coming in to the plug in the back and wire in some connectors and where do you put the parts to run the EL wire?

One more thing is the flasher on this car?

I edited it a bit with the thought on the 194 bulb.

Connect up a 194 bulb socket Via a Scotchlock connector, put both the 194 and the 3156 bulb into the housing, seperate them by a piece of metal bent into the u shape following the afterburner shape.

Either way whatever light is used for the turn signal, it would still flash.

Don't forget if you go with a LED or EL wire that the load changes and the DIC will have a problem with it.

This should help with that, if you go that route.

Instead of thinking 'Afterburner', think 'Eclipse'.

I don't have one to play with but it looks like there are three parts to the housing. The reflective can, the clear diffuser, and the red lense. Has anyone tried taking the light apart and spraying a tailight tinting paint over the clear diffuser, masking off a quarter inch around the bottom half circle. This would slow the light through the center but allow it to shine though around the edges. Might not be as dramatic as LEDs or completely blacking out the center. Sorry I don't have any cool photoshop programs to show what I am talking about.

The diffuser is normally part of the lens, molded on the inside.

I was using this picture for reference from an older post. It appears that the clear diffuser sits in about .5 to 1 inch seperate from the red lense.
