I thought these cars could hit high 12s with bolt ons?

I know he will walk me as I stand now. But from what I've seen of his car at the track, I'm thinking I can beat him in a quarter mile if I did a cam, ported heads, and 3.91 gears. If he can't break into the 11s, then I'm sure I can make it a driver's race. I'm already 12.83. On a cooler night I should be able to do a 12.6. Cam, ported heads, and 3.91 gears should be enough to get me into the low 12s. Or am I out of my mind in thinking this?

With corrected times or in the best conditions they can do that. His 13.4 corrected to a 12.8 if I remember. And my 12.8 corrected to a 12.1.

All this track talk is going to come down to a tire. Cam/bolt ons with a radial is 11s for you. Street tires you'll be stuck in the 12s. If he has a proper turbo kit/tune I'd expect him some where 450 to 500whp on pump gas in a lighter car you're going to be in trouble from a roll or if he puts a drag radial and can actually drive his car. Street tires he's going to be spinning all of 1st and 2nd

I'm not up to date on the turbo guys but I do recall old 350 z/g35 getting up near 500whp off of basic bolt on turbo kits. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets over that. Again coming down to the quality of the kit, fuel upgrades and tune. If he goes full standalone ems and tunes on e85 fuel 600 is very doable, the 2jz supra guys been doing more than that on a little 3.0 liter from the 1990s
